The home of authentic Italian food, PizzaExpress, are back in full swing. We’ve been getting stuck back into their pizzas, pastas, famous Dough Balls and desserts you want to pop straight on the ‘gram, but one dish we’re really, really into at the moment is the PizzaExpress Romana pizza.
What’s so good about the Romana?
Well, it’s thinner. It’s crispier. And it’s bigger. Using the same amount of deliciously fluffy pizza dough as the Classic 11” pizzas, it’s stretched out to form a 14” pizza base. So, it’s got a little more Italian charm, and a lot more circumference.
We’ve done the digging and rounded our top four Romana pizzas. But the full range is pretty darn delicious, so we advise trying them all at least once. The Padana Romana.
Dig in if you like: Creamy cheese on creamy cheese.
For toppings, we’re talking: Goat’s cheese, mozzarella, caramelised onion, spinach, red onion, tomato sauce and garlic oil. Vegan option available.
The Pollo Forza Romana.
Dig in if you like: A different flavour with every mouthful.
For toppings, we’re talking: Hot chilli chicken, Roquito peppers, roasted peppers, garlic oil, tomato, mozzarella, parsley, chilli oil and Gran Milano cheese.
The Vegan Mezze Romana.
Dig in if you like: Things that shouldn’t work on pizza but do.
For toppings, we’re talking: Smoked chilli chargrilled aubergine, sundried tomato harissa, jalapeno and Roquito peppers, rocket and creamy humous. This one’s also available on a gluten-free Romana base.
