Jumanji: The Next Level
The second sequel to the Jumanji film of 1995, Jumanji: The Next Level comes out this December with a star-studded cast made up of Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart.
Keeping the pieces of the Jumanji video game and repairing the system on his own in his grandfather’s basement, Spencer’s friends Bethany, Fridge and Martha arrive one day to find Jumanji running and Spencer missing. Entering Jumanji once again to find their friend, along with Spencer’s grandad and his friend Milo, the group must try and escape Jumanji one final time.

The second remake of the 1974 Canadian film, this 2019 version of Black Christmas follows a group of sorority sisters at Christmas time once again. As an unknown stalker begins targeting and killing young women around the Hawthorne College campus, the mystery person soon meets their match and faces a fight back in the form of Poots, O’Grady and co. Christmas come slasher film with a generous helping of girl power – a whole genre of its own.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
The third and final instalment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is released on 19th December 2019. A year on from the events and the release of The Last Jedi, Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe (Oscar Isaac) and the rest of the Resistance are up against Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and the First Order for the final battle to end the epic nine-part “Skywalker saga”.

The latest musical to hit the big screen is Cats, by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Directed by Tim Hooper, who also directed Les Misérables and The King’s Speech, the film adaptation features a star-studded cast and some big voices, including Taylor Swift and Jennifer Hudson. Set over one night, the tribe of Jellicle cats get together at the yearly Jellicle Ball to decide who will be reborn into a new life and sent to Heaviside Layer – which is their version of heaven.

A film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s book, Little Women stars big name after big name, including Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan and Meryl Streep. Following the lives of the four March sisters, Amy, Jo, Beth and Meg in 1860s New England, each of them face obstacles, life-changing events and the usual sibling rivalries. Heart-warming and nostalgic – the perfect film for Christmas time.

Spies in Disguise
New animation kids film Spies in Disguise tells the tale of super spy Lance Sterling and scientist Walter Beckett. Opposites in almost every way, the pair are forced to come together and work as a team to save the world when Lance is turned into a pigeon and needs Walter’s help. A real feel-good film for all ages to cure the post-Christmas blues.
