The Secret Life of Pets 2

One for kids and big kids, our favourite furry rascals are back in The Secret Life of Pets 2. So, what’s new? Well, Max’s owner Katie’s married with a child which leaves him feeling jealous. Snowball heads to the circus to free a white tiger. And Gidget’s on a mission to save Max’s favourite toy from a cat-infested apartment. Guaranteed laughs.

Release date: 24th May 2019

Cast: Patton Oswalt, Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart and Jenny Slate

Rocketman

Another biopic hitting the big screen this month is Rocketman, featuring Kingsman‘s Taron Egerton. Covering the lead up to the release of John’s ‘Honky Chateau’ album that kicked off his career, Egerton sang all his own stuff live on set. Never one to move with the crowd, the film’s described as more of a “musical fantasy” than biopic in true Elton style. And we really like the sound of that.

Release date: 24th May 2019

Cast: Taron Egerton, Richard Madden, Jamie Bell and Bryce Dallas Howard

From the producer of Get Out and Happy Death Day, Ma is another psychological horror with a twist worth catching. When a group of teens get pally with the lonely, seemingly sweet Ma (Octavia Spencer), they start hosting parties in her basement. But like all too-good-to-be-true horror set-ups, things take a sinister turn when Ma’s true colours come out.

Aladdin

The one we’ve been waiting for, Aladdin’s back as a live-action remake. Living on the streets of Arabia, Aladdin is captured by evil sorcerer Jafar before finding a magic lamp in the Cave of Wonders. Freeing a genie (played by Will Smith) from the lamp who can grant his wildest wishes, Jafar gets word and makes it his mission to bag the lamp for himself, ready to unleash evil on the kingdom. If you’ve seen the original, you’ll know how the story goes. And if you haven’t, we won’t tell…but shame on you.
